What is the best time of year to fish the shallow flats in Rockport, Texas?

Our peak season runs from June 1st through September 1st, which is the absolute best time of year to target active Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Flounder. The consistent warm summer weather keeps these species highly active in the shallow bay waters, making early morning trips particularly productive.

What should I bring along on my Rocky Branch Charters guided tour?

We recommend bringing a valid Texas saltwater fishing license, polarized sunglasses to help you spot fish in the shallow water, sunscreen, and your favorite snacks or drinks. We provide the kayaks, fishing gear, bait, and safety equipment, so you can focus entirely on enjoying your time on the water.

What types of fish can we target during a Rockport kayak fishing charter?

On our guided trips, we primarily target the Texas "Big Three"—Redfish (Red Drum), Speckled Trout, and Flounder. Depending on the season and tide conditions, we may also target Snook along the mangrove shorelines or other seasonal species migrating through the local bays.

Do you offer family-friendly coastal eco-tours in addition to fishing trips?

Yes, we offer custom family-friendly eco-tours starting at $100 per person, focusing on scenic paddling, dolphin watching, and birding around Aransas Pass and the Lydia Ann Lighthouse. These customizable trips are perfect for families, photographers, and nature lovers who want a relaxed coastal experience without the fishing.
